BarkGoals Privacy Policy

BarkGoals is developed and operated by BarkGoals LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how BarkGoals handles information when you use the BarkGoals app, website, support channels, and related services.

Information we handle

Depending on the features you use, BarkGoals handles:

Account information, such as your name, email address, account identifier, and sign-in details.
Tracker and wellness information, such as food and water logs, nutrition values, weight, goals, reminders, streaks, diary entries, saved foods, meals and recipes, and related history.
Companion and preference information, such as your pup's name, progress, customization, app settings, and feature preferences.
Apple Health information, when you grant permission, such as weight, activity, water, and nutrition information used by the features you choose.
Food lookup information, such as search queries, barcodes, restaurant or brand information, provider identifiers, and nutrition values.
AI information, when you choose AI features, such as prompts, responses, photos, audio, transcripts, feedback, and relevant app information needed to answer your request.
Public-share information, when you choose to create a public meal or recipe link, including the content you select for the share. Anyone with the link may be able to view or copy the shared information.
Subscription information, such as product identifiers, purchase and entitlement status, renewal information, transaction information, and the BarkGoals account identifier used to associate access with your account.
Technical and support information, such as app and device details, authentication and request metadata, security events, diagnostics, logs, and the information you include in a support or privacy request.

How we use information

We use information to provide and personalize BarkGoals; maintain your account; operate food search, subscriptions, public sharing, Apple Health, and AI features; prevent abuse; respond to support and privacy requests; diagnose problems; secure and improve the service; comply with law; and enforce our Terms.

When information is shared

We disclose information only as needed to provide requested features, operate BarkGoals, or meet legal obligations:

Service providers help us operate sign-in, subscriptions, food lookup, AI and transcription features, security, diagnostics, and support.
Apple receives information when you use Apple Health or App Store services.
People who receive a public-share link can access the content made available through that link.
We may disclose information to professional advisers, service providers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, corporate transactions, or protecting rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Apple Health information for advertising.

AI processing and retention

When you choose an AI feature, the content needed to provide it may be processed and retained by service providers to provide the feature, maintain conversation context, and operate and secure BarkGoals. Review information before submitting it and do not submit information you are not authorized to share. AI conversation content is retained while a conversation remains in use and is deleted after a period of inactivity, and is deleted when you delete your account. Other records are retained only as reasonably necessary for the service, security, support, legal, and business purposes described in this policy.

Apple Health

Apple Health access is optional and controlled through Apple permission screens. You can change permissions in the Health app or Settings, and you can turn off HealthKit integration in BarkGoals. Apple controls Health records stored in Apple Health. Deleting your BarkGoals account does not delete records controlled by Apple Health.

Subscriptions

App Store payments and subscription records are handled by Apple and service providers that help us confirm subscription access. Deleting your BarkGoals account does not cancel a subscription. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in App Store account settings.

Account deletion and other choices

You can edit or delete supported logs in the app, change Apple Health permissions, manage subscriptions through Apple, and use the in-app account-deletion flow. Account deletion deletes BarkGoals-controlled account data, subject to records we must retain for security or legal reasons. It does not delete records controlled by Apple or other third parties.

For access, correction, deletion, appeal, consent withdrawal, or other privacy questions, contact support@barkgoals.app. BarkGoals may need to verify your identity and may request information needed to locate and securely respond to your request. Available rights and response periods depend on applicable law.

Security

BarkGoals uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Eligibility and children's privacy

BarkGoals is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. Continuing through account authentication represents that you are at least 18. If BarkGoals learns it collected personal information from a person who is not eligible to use the service, it will evaluate and respond as required by applicable law.

International processing

BarkGoals and its providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate, subject to applicable safeguards and contractual requirements.

Consumer health data notice

The Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice at https://barkgoals.app/consumer-health/ supplements this policy for information that may be treated as consumer health data under applicable U.S. state law.

Changes

BarkGoals may update this Privacy Policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. An updated policy will be posted with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated when required.
